CPM/CPC Floor Pricing

What’s new?

price floor

We have made the floor pricing feature for banner ads available on all ad zone formats (except RTB and Push Notifications). This feature allows Publishers to set a minimum CPM/CPC price that the ad zone will accept for traffic and show either an Alternative HTML or Alternative URL if it is not reached.

 

What can this new feature do for me?

As a Publisher, you can set a minimum CPM/CPC price depending on which ad zone format you are using. This feature can be useful in various ways: You can use it to ensure that you don't show ads that pay above a minimum amount, or use it when showing your own internal ads.

 

Details

When setting up any format of ad zone (except for RTB and Push Notification), in the New Zone screen, turn on the Fallback HTML/Fallback URL switch:

  • In the Floor CPM/CPC field, set the lowest price which this ad zone will accept for traffic.
  • Choose a floor type:
    • Soft Floor: The floor is not 100% guaranteed, as campaigns with other pricing models can still be run on this zone, some of which may have an eCPM/eCPC higher than your floor.
    • Hard Floor: The floor you set is 100% guaranteed:
      • If using CPM, this means that only CPM and Smart CPM campaigns will run on this zone.
      • If using CPC, this means that only CPC and Smart CPC campaigns will run on this zone.
  • Alternative HTML (when available): Paste in the alternative HTML code that will show if the floor is not met.
  • Alternative URL (when available): Paste in the alternative URL that will show if the floor is not met.

Note: For most formats the floor pricing feature will use CPM, but for Email Clicks and Tab - Direct Link the floor pricing will use CPC.



Note: Native ad zones work slightly differently as they contain multiple ads. Their floor CPM will be calculated by taking an average of the CPM for each ad.

You will either see the Alternative HTML or the Alternative URL option, depending on which ad zone format you choose:
