## AdSecure

AdSecure is a digital advertising security platform that protects advertisers, ad networks, and publishers against online threats such as malware, unauthorized redirects, ad fraud, and inappropriate content.

By enabling the AdSecure integration for your network, advertiser campaigns are automatically scanned for a wide range of compliance and security violations, such as malware, unauthorized redirects, ad fraud, and inappropriate content. The Ad Server then uses the results to pause campaigns, reject assets, apply labels, or notify your team when a violation is detected, protecting your network, publishers, and end users without relying on manual review.

As an **Administrator** or **Super Administrator**, in **Admin > Settings > Apps > AdSecure**, click on the toggle button to switch to **Enabled** to activate the application.

By enabling AdSecure on your ad server, you are integrating an additional layer of security and real-time verification for the ads displayed on your platform.

Once you enable the app, you will be able to configure the following fields:

* API Key: To authorize communication with AdSecure’s API.
* Initial Frequency: Defines how often campaigns are first scanned after creation.
* Maximum Frequency: Defines the maximum frequency for ongoing scans.

### Prerequisites: AdSecure-Side Configuration

The EXADS integration requires two items to be configured on the AdSecure side first. Both must use the exact names shown below as any deviation will prevent scans and notifications from working:

1. New Alert Rule: Name - **Default Alert Rule** - This rule defines which violations AdSecure will scan for. The EXADS-side Rules act as a filter on top of this and EXADS can only react to violations that AdSecure is actually scanning for. See AdSecure docs: [Managing Custom Alert Rules](https://docs.adsecure.com/docs/guides/custom-alert-rules.html)
2. New Notification setting: Name - **Callback on Alert Dev** - Each notification's URI must point to the EXADS gateway endpoint (e.g. <https://gateway.yournetwork.com/adsecure-analysis>). This is what allows AdSecure analysis results to be queued and processed by EXADS so that the configured Actions (pause campaign, reject asset, etc.) can be executed. See AdSecure docs: [Configuring the Notification Service](https://docs.adsecure.com/docs/guides/notification-service.html)

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** The names Default Alert Rule and Callback On Alert Dev are hardcoded in the EXADS integration. Using different names will prevent the integration from functioning.
{% endhint %}

### Rules Configuration

Once AdSecure is enabled, you can define how violations are handled via **Rules**. Each **Rule** specifies which AdSecure violations should trigger which **Actions** in the EXADS platform.

![AdSecure](https://2551497454-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbWd08bYtHMw1HqDKFpBf%2Fuploads%2FJ1TX1ShAuZ05ZabylrVQ%2FAdSecure_Add_Rule.png?alt=media\&token=b4c8c1b5-bbdd-4bc6-b9a8-a42fd8f9299b)

The rules are displayed in a table with the following columns:

* Name: The name of the rule.
* Violations: The list of AdSecure violation types associated with this rule.
* Actions: The actions that will be performed when these violations are detected.
* Enabled: Checkbox to enable or disable the rule. Each rule also includes **Edit** and **Delete** icons for management.

### Creating a New Rule

![AdSecure](https://2551497454-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbWd08bYtHMw1HqDKFpBf%2Fuploads%2FzkZw9roT0FawGhjSgkgX%2FAdSecure_Create_Rule.png?alt=media\&token=fc181ee3-e7da-4424-9b11-c1f47c3cf9bc)

Click **Add Rule** to create a new compliance rule. You will be prompted to complete the following fields:

* **Name**
* **Violations**:
  * Multiple violations can be selected from the full list of **41 AdSecure violation types**.
  * The same violation can be reused in another rule, as long as the **violation + action** combination is unique.
* **Actions**:
  * Multiple actions can be selected per rule.
  * Some actions require additional input such as a **reason or labels**.

### Variation Types Available

The AdSecure integration supports scanning different variation types submitted by advertisers. These are the creative formats that can be analyzed for compliance and security issues.

Supported Media Types:

* 'img\_banner'
* 'html\_banner'
* 'link'
* 'iframe\_link'
* 'Video\_banner'

Each variation type will be automatically submitted to AdSecure for analysis based on the configured rules.

### Notifications

When a violation is detected, EXADS triggers an AdSecure Violation event that notifies relevant users through:

* Email to Admin and Compliance users
* Optional email to the Advertiser
* Message in the Notifications Panel for both Admin and Advertiser accounts

## Authenticator Applications

Authenticator Applications are security apps that add an extra layer of protection to your online accounts by requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password. When logging into an account, you'll need both your password and a one-time use code generated by the app. This code changes every 30 seconds, making it much harder for unauthorized individuals to access your account. You set up the app once for each account, typically by scanning a QR code. Afterwards, you'll use the app to generate the login code whenever it's needed. Authenticator Applications are a powerful tool for keeping your personal information secure on the internet.

Here are the names of some authenticator apps:

1. Google Authenticator
2. Authy
3. Microsoft Authenticator
4. Duo Mobile

**The company name associated with the account**: This field is used to identify which company the authentication application is linked to.

**The application name**: This is the name of the authentication application. It allows for the identification of the specific application within the company that uses authentication.

**Force 2FA to all users**: This option is a security control that, when enabled, requires all users to set up and use two-factor authentication (2FA) to access their accounts. This option is only available for admin users.

When enabling the Authenticator APP, in the user profile on the Ad Server, at the end of the page, the Two Factor Authentication option will be displayed.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.exads.com/ad-server/admin/saas-apps.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
